Nourish, Savannah’s original soap store, is locally owned by Shoshanna and Corey Walker. Shoshanna’s mom started making soap in her kitchen over 20 years ago. It started as a hobby–with molds, mixers, and cutters all made by Shoshanna’s dad, but it soon took hold of her mother and before too long, the entire family.
When her mother’s workspace expanded from the kitchen to include the garage and closets of Shoshanna’s childhood home it was clear that her mother’s passion for making soap had become more than about the product: it had become about the ingredients. Just as they do today, her mother insisted on using only the highest quality blend of skin-moisturizing ingredients to not only cleanse the skin, but also improve its health and vitality–free of the chemicals, detergents, mineral oils, surfactants, and parabens that harm our bodies and our planet.
Soap for her family was a craft—one that required inspiration and dedication. In 2000, Shoshanna and her mother acted on these feelings and expanded her mother’s home business into a small retail store, where she continued to make each bar by hand and where Shoshanna learned how to run their growing business. They began to expand their recipes and their product line as customers confirmed the Nourish belief that people crave naturally-derived health and beauty products that they can trust on their skin and for their families. The Nourish name grew as the results came in—people simply loved what Nourish products could do for their skin!
Today, with an amazing team, Shoshanna and her husband Corey are thrilled to be continuing what her mother started so many years ago in her kitchen. They now have seven retail stores where they sell a wonderful selection of bath products, as well as the many varieties of bar soap that are still made by hand. Nourish is very proud of all their products, each of which is still created by them personally with health and well-being in mind.
As the next generation of their family comes along and Corey and Shoshanna have the opportunity to teach their children their passion, she is constantly reminded of her mother’s belief that what is good for our bodies is and should always be good for the earth. That is why Nourish products are and will always be made by hand, in small batches, using only renewable resources with ingredients that are beneficial to your skin and safe for your family.
