Since some of the city’s earliest days, Savannah’s craftsmen, farmers, artisans, artists and tradesmen met and mingled in this district alive with the sights and sounds of a busy port city to shop and trade. The place where Savannahians have gathered and exchanged goods since the eighteenth century is still the city’s hub for shopping, dining, art, entertainment and nightlife.
