Ron Helman Jazz Ensemble – Tybee Post Theater

Ron Helman is a transplant from New York City who now lives in Savannah GA. The Ron Helman Jazz Ensemble is an instrumental band with a focus on jazz music of the 50’s and 60’s. Central among his influences are the music of Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Antonio Carlos Jobim and others from that generation. “Listening to Miles moved me over from being a classical trumpet player to jazz. I take a band approach which makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts. I want the audience to feel some intimacy with each player on stage.” – Ron Helman
